1. DESCRIPTION
Protective and deoxidazing flux for remelting fine scraps,scraps and
chips of brasses .
2. PROPERTIES
Physical state Solid, crystalline powder , odourless.
Density 1.4 gr/cm³
3. OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Hygroscopic. The solution in water has a very strong alkaline reaction.
Solubility in water is about 80% in weight.
4. METHOD OF USE
TEKBRASS is used in the melting of binary brasses.The amount of addition
of the flux varies considerably with the nature of the material composing the charge.
Returns and clean massive scraps require additions from 0,5 to 1 % by weight
to assure a fluid cover until the end of the melting process. If the material
is clean, 2% of the flux on their weight is sufficient. If it is rich of
oxides and impurities, twice as much or more can be needed.
The fines mixed with the flux have to be quickly plunged in the melt
already protected by a layer of molten flux.
A fluid cover will be maintained till the end of melting by adding ,
if necessary, more fresh flux is added.
5. ADVANTAGES
Using TEKBRASS in the operation gives clean metal, reduces melting
loss, decreases the metal entrapped in the slag and also eliminates fumes.
6. PACKING
In bags of 25 kgs.
7. STORAGE
Store in a dry place in the original sealed packing.
8. SAFETY
Subject to moisture pick up. Avoid contact with the skin and inhalation
of fines and fumes evolved. Work with forced fumes draught.
