The automatic packing line consists of an automated system for lifting pipes out of the containers used to transport them from the extruder machines to the packing line. To prevent the system from becoming overflooded, the pipes are then divided into smaller batches and then singularized on specailly designed conveyors where they are flattened out and formed into the pre-programmed batches to be wrapped. The batches are then individually taped using stretch film to ensure that they do not subside or open out during the wrapping
phase.
For example, the line can handle pipes ranging from 20 mm in diameter up to 90 mm and the maximum length is 4000 mm. Packing capacity is 300
sub-bundles per hour of any pipe dimension (packing up to 300 bundles containing 25 x 20 mm diameter pipes per
hour).
A specially designed machine which inserts the pre-prepared bundles into a sleeve-like polythene tube which is then tucked under the bundle and sealed at the ends with sticky tape (it is also possible to weld the ends of the tube using a heat seal if
necessary).
A label is applied automatically to the end of each bundle before it is automatically stacked into a skip or made into a bundle ready for strapping.
- The line is divided into the following main sections:
Machine – automatic bundling and packing line for round UPVC pipes Ø 20 mm to Ø 90 mm
1 Chain conveyors for loading full skips / return of emptied skips
2 System for automatically unloading pipes from the skips using specially designed angled lifters
3 Rake and conveyor belt system disentangling pipes and initial separation
4 Sling system and conveyors for separating pipes
5 Layer preparation with flattening and side containment
6 Singularizing unit with pinchers and inclined conveyors for single profiles
7 Silo for loading individual profiles and bundle formation
8 No. 3 top taping machines for binding the bundles
9 Walking beam for bundles with weighing scales
10 No. 2 units for inserting bundles into polythene wrap with automatic cutting of the ends
11 Folding and taping of the ends of the bundle
12 Intermediate conveyors
13 Automatic lable printing and application
14 Automatic formation of layers of bundles with lances and pushers
15 Hydraulic scissor lifters and lances for master bundle formation
16 Chain conveyors for loading skip to master bundle exit
17 Roller conveyor for master bundle removal with strapping points
18 Eelectrical part including control panels, electrical cabinets with PLCs
